When Gratitude Begins to Heal
What if, instead of asking why I lost him, I remembered how lucky I was to have had him?
For quite some time, I looked at everything I lost when Dave died. But eventually, something began to shift.
Instead of only asking, “Why did this happen to me?” I began thinking about how extraordinarily fortunate I had been.
I had someone who loved me deeply, and I had loved him just as hard. The loss hadn't changed, and neither had the pain.
But gratitude began to make room for another truth: I was incredibly lucky to have had a love worth grieving this much.
