Do You Wear Your Rings?
There is no rule for when—or whether—you should take them off.
After Dave died, I was certain I would wear my wedding rings for the rest of my life. Taking them off wasn't something I even considered.
Over time, though, my thinking began to soften. The rings still mean everything they have always meant, but I no longer feel that wearing them forever is something I have to promise myself.
For now, I continue to wear them because they bring me comfort. And I've learned that if a day comes when they no longer do, taking them off won't change the love or the life they represent.
