Love Leaking Out Your Eyes

THE 16 LESSONS • LESSON 11

Sometimes crying isn't falling apart.
Sometimes it's healing.
Sometimes it's love looking for a place to go.

Many of us were taught that crying is a sign of weakness. I certainly was.

After Dave died, I discovered something very different.

I came to believe that tears aren't a sign we're falling apart. They're a reflection of how deeply we love. When someone we love dies, that love doesn't disappear. It simply has nowhere to go.

That's why I often say, "Tears are love leaking out your eyes."

Your tears don't mean you're weak. They don't mean you're grieving the wrong way. They simply mean your love didn't end when your person's life did.

So if the tears come, let them. They are one of the most beautiful reminders that love continues long after death.

After all... tears are just love looking for a place to go.
